I remember waking early that day. A plane had crashed into building one, and the Good Morning America hosts were frantically trying to tell the American public what had happened. I remember watching moments later as building two was attacked. Watching still as the buildings later collapsed with thousands of victims and first responders...moms, dads, sons, daughters...trapped inside. I remember the grief that day and the days and weeks that followed, but I also remember the way Americans responded. Strong. Pulling together. Behaving in kinder, more forgiving ways to one another. Teach your kids what happened that day. We can't forget such a landmark event in our history. In the world's history. And try to teach them, too, to be kind, to treasure the ones they love, and to show others grace as they move through life. Remember the tragedy but remember the bravery and goodness, too. We wish love and peace to all the families affected by the tragedy on 9/11/01.
